Easy Camping Meals for KidsWritten by in Blog

Camping is a great way to teach your children to survive with just a few expenses. It can also be a great way to show your children essential life skills such as utilizing only minimal resources for cookery.

There are a lot of things to do after camping, but there aren’t a lot of delicious foods to make since most families carry canned food.

Rather than sticking to canned food, why not gather around and teach your children new delicious meals for camping? I have compiled a list of camping delicacies that are quick and inexpensive to make. Babygearspro writes more information about kid’s product and reviews. You can learn many important things.

Easy Camping Meals for kids

Banana boats

Gently open a banana and fill it with fries and marshmallows. Slice an unpeeled banana from the stem to the bottom by cutting it open from the top layer to make a pocket. Do not slice the bottom part of the whole banana.

Wrap the banana in aluminum foil and place it on hot coal for several minutes. If you set it for too long the marshmallows will stick so, do not put for too long. When done with cooking eat the banana boat from the peel using a spoon.

Spider hot dogs

Spider hot dogs are just hot dogs slit into different layers and are made by grilling. Slice the ends of a hot dog into three parts or any number that you wish. Leave enough space in the center where you can stick a fork while cooking; this can be 2 to 3 inches.

As you grill, the hot dog will look like a spider since the slit pieces will curl out. Leave on the rack to cook for as long as 10 minutes or as long as you wish. Just make sure it does not overcook.

Orange peel cake

You will need a chocolate mix, one cup water, three eggs, oil and as several oranges. Prepare the cake butter then scoop pulp out of the oranges that you have cut. You can eat the orange pulp while you prepare this delicious dessert.

Fill the hollow oranges with the batter that you earlier prepared. Place the orange top back and then wrap them with aluminum foil. Make sure you tightly pack the oranges by sealing the foil very compactly.

Place the oranges on fire and rotate once or twice in between ten to 15 minutes. Remove from the fire and check if they are fully cooked then enjoy!

Sweet pancakes

You will need enough flour, one teaspoon baking powder milk powder or milk itself, salt, sugar, eggs and any other sweetener. Mix the Flour, milk and the eggs to make batter add the sugar salt, and the sweeteners to add flavor to the mixture.

Make sure the paste is not too thick if it is adding more milk to the batter will make it smooth. Use a non-stick frying pan to cook the pancakes. Add a teaspoon of oil or butter so that the mixture does not stick to the frying pan.

Add the batter to the cooking pan and let it cook for a few minutes. When it fully browns you can remove it or when fully prepared. Enjoy your sweet hot pancakes.

Apple fills

Apple fills; these are just apples made of fresh fruits peanut butter and nuts. You will need apples, chocolate chips, raisins almonds and peanut butter. Remove the core of the apples and slice them into rings.

Arrange the slices on a plate or tray and coat them with peanut butter. Crumble the nuts and mix them in a bowl alternatively you can chop them. Scatter the mixed nuts on the peanut buttered apple slices. Enjoy your Apple fills.

Vegetable skewers

Chop different types of vegetables and fruits together and skewer them.

Spray the vegetables lightly and oil them.

Grill each skewer on the grill until cooked to desired lengths.

Remove the vegetables and serve when hot,

Sweet Pies

All you need are blueberries, butter, and bread instead of dough.

Spread apple pie filling on bread butter another slice of bread and place it on top of the one with apple pie.

Cook it on top of the campfire for several minutes and serve while warm.

Final Words

All the above meals are easy to cook though some require preparation. Just because you are in the wilderness, nothing should stop you from giving your children a feast. All in all, make sure you don’t litter the camping place with waste that is not eco-friendly.
